The Financial Reporting Accountant is primarily responsible for the general accounting and reporting activities in support of the accounting function for the growing Inashco NA organization. Responsibilities include overseeing the monthly closing cycle, reporting and consolidation (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), overseeing the accounts payable (A/P) function (including payment of vendors), generating cash funding requests, performing account reconciliations, and recommending and establishing policies and procedures for the general accounting and A/P function, with the objective of improving internal controls and instituting best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform all monthly closing and reporting activities in a timely and accurate manner:
• Perform monthly account reconciliations (e.g. cash, A/R, debt, A/P)
• Ensure that all revenue, expenses, assets and liabilities are recorded in accordance with GAAP
• Propose and record journal entries (accruals, re-classes and adjustments)
• Prepare financial reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Perform preliminary analysis of the results and identify anomalies or unusual trends, including potential errors or omissions
• Responsibility for oversight of accounts payable functions:
• Ensure proper coding and approval of all invoices
• Ensure all invoices are matched and/or entered and processed in a timely and accurate manner
• Follow-up on statements and vendor requests
• Resolve issues in the event an invoice does not match the purchase order
• Develop written policies and procedures encompassing general ledger (G/L), accounts payable, expense reimbursements, credit card usage, and the cash management function:
• Strengthen internal controls and develop new tools and processes to streamline the G/L and A/P processes
• Cash management:
• Prepare bi-weekly cash funding requests
• Ensure all banking activity is properly accounted for in the G/L
• Propose vendor payment requests for management approval and initiate payments (ACH, check, wire)
Supervisory Responsibilities
None

Education and Experience
• Associate's degree in accounting or related field required; bachelor's degree preferred
• 2-4 years of relevant work experience; prior experience working in a heavy industrial or manufacturing industry preferred
• Familiarity with GAAP, the accounting cycle, and standard accounting practices required

Special Skills and Abilities
• Demonstrated ability to take direction and work independently at times to achieve results; must be comfortable seeking input and advice where appropriate on financial matters which have material or could have a material impact on the business
• Proven experience in applying sound judgment and creativity in planning and achieving goals within one's areas of accountability
• Exceptional planning and organizational skills, as well as precise attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and complete tasks with minimal supervision
• Team player spirit; ability to work well within an international team and foster an environment of cooperation
• Excellent communicator, on all levels; ability to be convincing, maintain a positive attitude and enhance morale
• Ability to accept and act upon feedback
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; proficiency in all other Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Familiarity with QuickBooks, Microsoft AX or other Enterprise accounting systems
